Who Can Submit?

We invite submissions from teachers, school leaders, and anyone involved in providing inclusive education in mainstream schools. While this initiative focuses on inclusion in mainstream settings, we also welcome examples where specialist expertise outside of mainstream settings (e.g. special schools, alternative provision, other specialist services) has supported inclusive practice in mainstream schools.

Complete the form below – Answer a set of structured questions designed to capture your approach.
Send supporting documents (optional) – If you have already submitted similar evidence of your practice elsewhere, you can email this to us, to avoid any duplication of effort.
Submit your details – So we can follow up if we would like to develop your submission into a case study.

Submissions will be open from 10:30am on Saturday 15th March and close Thursday 1st May 2025.

The current submission window will close at midnight on Thursday 1st May 2025. Submissions will be reviewed on a rolling basis, with a synthesis report compiled in the summer term.

Inclusion in Practice

Inclusion is about breaking down barriers to participation and learning. Tell us about the practical approaches and solutions that are working in your setting and why you chose to adopt them. You do not need to answer every question, please focus on the area that is most relevant to the practice you want to share. Responses can be up to 500 words per section.

Early Identification of Needs – What approaches do you have in place to support early and accurate identification of needs?

Inclusive Practice – What curricular, pedagogical, classroom practice or whole-school approaches are most effective in supporting inclusion in your setting?

Family & Community Partnerships – How do you work with parents, families and/or the local community to strengthen inclusion?

Targeted & Specialist Support – What additional provision do you have in place to broaden and enrich your offer to meet a wider range of needs?

Building Workforce Expertise – How do you develop and build staff capability and expertise in inclusive practice?

Enablers – What conditions have supported and enabled excellent inclusive education in your setting? We are particularly interested in flexible approaches to funding, workforce planning and accountability?

Evidence of Impact

Please share any evidence that demonstrates the impact of your approach to inclusive education. We welcome both qualitative and quantitative evidence. You do not need to answer every question, please focus on the area that is most relevant to the impact you want to share. We would suggest responses of up to 100 words per section.

Academic Progress – Have you seen improvements in attainment, progress measures, or specific subjects (e.g., KS2 reading/writing, Progress 8) how do you know this is because of inclusive practice?

Pupil Experience & Wellbeing – What feedback have you gathered from pupils about their experience of inclusion?

Family & Community Feedback – Have any family members or members from the wider community shared their views and feedback about the success of your approach?

External Recognition – Have you received external recognition for your approach (e.g., highlighted by sector bodies or networks, awards, peer reviews, research collaborations)?

Other Indicators – Are there any additional ways you measure success?

Sustainability, Replicability and Cost

Sustainability: What factors have contributed to sustaining this approach over time? What challenges have you encountered in maintaining it?

Replicability and Cost: What conditions made it possible for you to develop an inclusive approach in your setting? How could these conditions be strengthened or applied more widely across the system? What were the cost implications?
